Goddess Saraswati
Saraswati is an important goddess in Balinese Hinduism. She shares the same attributes and iconography as Saraswati in Hindu literature of India - in both places, she is the goddess of knowledge, creative arts, wisdom, language, learning and purity. In Bali, she is celebrated on Saraswati day, one of the main festivals for Hindus.
Batubulan
In Batubulan near Celuk you can find the silver factory and shop Saraswati Silver, Banjar Pagutan Kaja. It is in the neighbourhood of the Bali Bird Park and Reptile Park, so you can combine a visit [www.bali-bird-park.com]. Sarawati is not easy to find because there are no signs, so I added a map.
Saraswati Silver
Near the parking place they have a beautiful garden. Next to the garden is the factory and the shop.
The jewelry looks like the expensive international trademark Buddha to Buddha. Some time ago Saraswati Silver used this trademark in their own jewelry. This trademark is however only to be used for the jewelry sold in Amsterdam and other shops in the Netherlands, [http://www.buddhatobuddha.com/nl/sieraden].
In the Netherlands prices are higher then the prices in Batubulan, which on Bali can be 2/3 lower. So that's why a lot of tourists (and Dutch people) are visiting this shop.
Best to Budha
Nowadays Saraswati is using his own trademark Best to Budha. Written with one d. The factory and shop do not differ so much from others in Celuk, except that the collection of Saraswati is more look alike Buddha to Buddha. Because the factory is nearby and the jewelry is made on order, you can ask to adjust it to the individual measures. Nowadays people like it so have several bracelets together on the wrist, with different measures. All made of silver or combined with other materials.
